Back in January, we went to Clark's Farm at Little
Totham - Essex and chose a retired greyhound.
Thousands of Greyhounds a year need new homes and as we were now without
any dogs, having arrived in the village with three, we thought it was
time to get another one and this seemed a great way to do it.
His name, with us, is Arthur but his racing name was Spotted Vieri. He
is four years old and did all of his racing at the Crayford Greyhound
Track in South East London. In total, he competed in 45 races, winning
3. He is very calm and friendly and has settled into his new life very
quickly. Remember, all he has known is a concrete kennel for the main
part of his life. When given the opportunity in the garden, he often
demonstrates his tremendous speed. However, he tires very quickly so it
is a case of speed but no stamina.
